The International Arena Polo Test Match for the Bryan Morrison Trophy returns to Hickstead this Saturday (18 January), with England facing Argentina for the first time in this fixture.

England has a remarkable winning record at Hickstead, winning all but two of the Test Matches to take place at the All England Polo Club. But last year, the home side lost to a strong Irish team after the match went down to an extra chukka, with the visitors winning 17-16.

The English side will be hoping to return to their winning ways on Saturday, but they’ll have a challenge ahead of them when they take on Argentina, who are regarded as the best polo nation in the world.

Two members of last year’s England team return for the Test Match, with Captain Jack Hyde (8) playing alongside 7-goaler Matias Amaya. They will be joined by Grant Collett (5), making his Hickstead Test Match debut. Team Argentina will be captained by Alfredo Bigatti, (8), with Adolfo Casabal (6) and Nico Roberts (5).

The feature match of the day for the Bryan Morrison Trophy will start at 2pm and will be livestreamed on HPA TV, Hickstead.TV and ClipMyHorse.TV.

The action gets underway with the British Junior Match at 11.45am, featuring some of England’s top up-and-coming players., Archie Heseltine (2) will captain Hurlingham, along with Jacob Watson (2) and Harry Oliver (1), while Ranelagh will be captained by Lucas Stern (2), alongside Bruno Bradshaw (2) and Leo Stuart (1).

Tickets are available here, costing £8 when purchased in advance or £10 when bought at the gate. The clubhouse offers excellent views over the action in the arena, and it will be open all day serving food and drink.
