The first ever senior international dressage class to take place at the main Hickstead showground was won by Sadie Smith and Swanmore Dantina.
Their win took place on day four of the ICE Horseboxes All England Dressage Festival, which began with three days of international Para-dressage, with a further three days of CDI and Premier League classes.
The pair won the CDI1* Prix St Georges with a score of 73.235%, less than 0.15% ahead of runners up Becky Moody and Jack Diamond.
“My horse has improved a lot this year. She's got a really good temperament and every show I go to she always rises to the occasion,” said Sadie.
Katie Bailey, a former stable jockey of Carl Hester, headed a large field in the Stubben Premier League FEI Intermediate II. Riding Hawtins Barolo, Katie produced a polished test to score 74.167%, more than three percent ahead of her nearest rival.
A host of KBIS British Dressage Young Horse classes culminated in the Seven-year-old test, which saw Sarah Rogers and Forest Hill take a narrow win over Laura Tomlinson and Full Moon II.
Ruby Hughes, who is the daughter of top dressage riders Gareth and Rebecca Hughes, won the CDI Young Rider Team Test. Aged 15, Ruby is in her first year of Young Riders, and she scored 69.853% to take the title on board World Exclusive. In the Junior Team competition, Mette Dahl – the daughter of Fiona Bigwood and Anders Dahl – won riding Caporal de Massa.
The Fairfax Saddles Premier League FEI Prix St Georges went to Alexander Harrison and Kickback, while the CDI Under-25 Intermediate II was won by Spain’s Sergio Moron Basoco and Farnham L.
