Leading lady showjumpers Harriet Nuttall and Ellen Whitaker selected Jan Davey as the winner of the Best Dressed Guest prize at Hickstead today.
The pair presented Jan with a beautiful bouquet from Cottage Flowers and a magnum of Laurent Perrier champagne in the Longines International Arena.
Worthing-based Jan also claimed the main Ladies' Day prize of an overnight stay at Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa, including dinner, a champagne afternoon tea and a spa treatment.
She wore a beautifully co-ordinated outfit of a turquoise dress, hat, shoes and bag, which all came from Phase Eight. She had originally bought the outfit for her daughter’s wedding a couple of years ago and was pleased to be able to get out of the cupboard again for today's occasion.
“I’ve been coming to Hickstead for many years but this is my first Ladies’ day,” said a delighted Jan, who was having her first experience of competing in the main arena. "I've been in here for coursewalks before, but I now know how the horses feel when they’re in here!”
The runner-up prize was awarded to Tina Chi, who won a relaxing overnight stay at Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa, with dinner for two and spa treatments.
Second runner-up went to Anne Dunford, winning a luxury spa day at the brand new The Spa at South Lodge, an Exclusive Hotel & Spa. Including lunch and one treatment per person.
