Boomerang Hickstead is proud to announce further line-up additions The Proclaimers, Soul II Soul, The Shires and Rae Morris for our inaugural music event, which will take place in our famous International Arena in Sussex this September.
Scottish twin brothers, Craig and Charlie Reid, better known as The Proclaimers, will join Simple Minds on the Saturday night to perform songs from across their famed career. A worldwide success story, The Proclaimers, perhaps best known for their euphoric anthem ‘I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ have continued to write, record and tour the globe to critical praise and commercial success. A festival favourite, their raucous, high-energy show continues to wow and win fans of any age. Expect to hear hits from across the years alongside tracks from their latest album 'Let's Hear It For The Dogs'.
Also added to the Saturday bill are British-bred, country music-influenced duo, The Shires. Currently taking the world by storm with their unique sound, Ben Earle and Chrissie Roads are back from Nashville, where they recorded their debut album 'Brave', to perform the summer festival circuit and bring their music to the masses.
On Sunday, North London-raised musical icons, Soul II Soul, will accompany previously announced headliners, Jessie J and The Vamps. Since catapulting into the charts back in 1989 with ‘Keep On Movin’ and ‘Back To Life’, Grammy and Ivor Novello award winning, Soul II Soul have sold over 10 million albums worldwide. Musically, they have kept themselves contemporary with tracks being used in high-profile commercials and the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics in 2012. Main man, Jazzie B, awarded an OBE for services to music, remains a prevalent part of the club scene and still loves bringing the much loved and instantly recognisable Soul II Soul sound to the stage.
Singer songwriter Rae Morris will also bring her critically-acclaimed, independent flair to Sunday afternoon to perform tracks from her debut album, ‘Unguarded’. Blackpool-born Rae has quickly garnered a legion of fans since the release of her ‘From Above’ EP. With chamber pop vocals and a style that refuses to be pigeon holed, Rae Morris is an act you won't want to miss.
In addition to watching some of the world’s most renowned artists, there will also be an opportunity to soak up the atmosphere at gourmet pop up restaurants, indulge in delicious street food and sample alternative entertainment away from the main stage.
Further guests and details will be announced over the coming weeks so stay tuned and see you there!
