Hickstead is synonomous with showjumping. As host to the British Grand
Prix and the only Samsung Super League with FEI Competition in the British
Isles, it is the home of British showjumping. Founded in 1961 by Douglas
Bunn, Hickstead has come to represent more than just showjumping however,
and as it approaches its 50th birthday is equally as renowned for polo,
showing, dressage, driving and even eventing! In recent years, we have also
added weddings, conferences, parties and events to our repertoire, offering
an idyllic, incredibly unique setting for any function. Please explore our

Backwell Comprehensive School from Avon, Bristol, broke Stonar School’s two-year domination of the senior school championships. It was the school’s first visit to the championships, their victory came after a tense jump off against the 2005 winners, Kilkenny College, Ireland.

It was a long journey to reach Hickstead for Queen Margaret’s School, York, but worth the effort when their team of Daisy Miller riding Munch, Rosanna Lambert and Paper Boy and Sophie Beatty with Little Big Man took the Junior Schools Championship with a first round, collective total of only eight faults.
The Pony Club final developed into a five-team jump off between Atherstone, Cotswold Vale Farmers, Brocklesby, Heythrop and Ashford Valley after they all finished the first round on team totals of 12 faults.
